Tummy Time Without (Many) Tears
Your baby hates tummy time. You hate that your baby hates tummy time. Our physio shares tricks that actually work.

Ah, tummy time. That magical activity where babies cry, parents stress, and everyone wonders why this is supposed to be good.
Here's the thing: most babies hate it at first. It's hard work for them. But it's also crucial for development.
Why tummy time matters:
- Builds neck and shoulder strength
- Prevents flat spots on the head
- Prepares muscles for rolling, crawling, sitting
Tricks that actually help:
Start small
3-5 minutes, several times a day. Not one long crying session.
Get down there with them
Eye contact and silly faces make everything better.
Use a rolled towel under the chest
Gives a little boost and makes it less frustrating.
Try different surfaces
On your chest, on a firm pillow, on a play mat. Variety helps.
Time it right
Not when hungry, not when tired. After a diaper change is often good.
"Five minutes of tummy time feels like an hour. But so does five minutes of sleep when you have a newborn. You've got this."
